Now journalists will be able to get subsidy on housing loan, interest subsidy up to 5 percent per month will be available on housing loan up to Rs 30 lakh.

   Raipur/Shouryapath/The delegation of Raipur Press Club paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at his residence office here this evening. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister by presenting him a flower bunch for the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting in the interest of journalists. The Chief Minister congratulated and congratulated the delegation.
  It is noteworthy that, following the announcement made by Chief Minister Baghel in the budget for the financial year 2023-24, 'Shri Lalit Surjan Sanchar Pratinidhi Housing Loan Interest Grant Scheme' has been published in the Gazette by the Public Relations Department. Under the scheme, 5 percent interest subsidy per month will be given for housing loans up to Rs 30 lakh for 5 years. This scheme will be effective on purchasing houses after April 1, 2023. With this decision, journalists of the state will now be able to fulfill their dream of housing at affordable rates.
  According to the decisions taken in the recent cabinet meeting in the interest of journalists, in compliance with the announcement made by the Chief Minister, the state government will provide 15 percent discount to journalists on purchasing houses in City Development Scheme No. 4 Kaushalya Mata Vihar. While approving the decision of Raipur Development Authority, as per its first stage estimate, the amount of exemption given to 309 journalists was Rs 6 crore 37 lakh 20 thousand 450.

    Similarly, under the leadership of Chief Minister Baghel, the government, in line with its commitment to continue protecting the glorious journalism of Chhattisgarh and its high ideals, enacted the Journalist Protection Act in the state and got it passed in the Assembly. Chhattisgarh was the first state to take the initiative to enact such a law. Journalist Welfare Fund has been formed in the interest of journalists. Under this, earlier assistance up to Rs 50 thousand was given to journalists and their families for the treatment of diseases, the present government has amended the rules and now it has been increased to Rs 2 lakh. In cases of untimely death, a provision has been made to provide financial assistance up to Rs 5 lakh.
   Similarly, Media Karmi Samman Nidhi Yojana, Senior Media Karmi Samman Nidhi Yojana is being operated for senior media personnel of the state. Earlier in this scheme, there was a provision of giving 05 thousand rupees per month as Samman Nidhi, the present government has increased it to 10 thousand rupees per month. By amending the scheme, the eligibility age has been reduced from 62 years to 60 years. Media persons eligible for this scheme will be able to avail lifelong benefits.
   Apart from this, by amending the rules for providing preference to journalists in the state, a provision has also been made for development block level preference. Due to this, journalists working at the grassroots level in rural areas have also started getting the benefit of facilities. Under the new preference rules in the state, the preference quota in media institutions has also been doubled. Now preference is being given from state level to development block level.
  On this occasion, Raipur Press Club President Damu Ambedar, Treasurer Ms. Shagufta Shireen, Executive Member Sanjay Shukla, Manoj Nayak, senior journalists Narayan Bhoi, Deepak Pandey, Dr. Anil Dwivedi, Piyush Mishra and Umesh Yadu were also present.
